香港的電視台播出《衝鋒21》（又譯：《高速達陣》、《光速蒙面俠21》）時，把片頭曲歌詞中的“I find breakthrough”譯為「我找突破」。這是一個很常見的錯誤。

　　其實英文“find”並不解作「找」，而是「發現、找到、找出」。

　　隨手在陸谷孫主編的《英漢大詞典》中，抄下一些例句：

　　Find a few coins in the street.
　　Find a suitable person for the job.
　　Find the answer to a question.
　　Columbus found America.

　　這些“find”都不是「找」，而是「發現、找到、找出」。

　　歌詞“I find breakthrough”，應譯作「我找到突破」或「我發現突破」，而不是「我找突破」。

　　有兩個常用詞彙，真的解作「找」，而不是「找到」。

　　一個是“seek”，常見的翻譯是「尋找、探索、尋求、追求」。我也在《英漢大詞典》中引錄一些例句：

　　Seek the shade on a hot day.（大熱天找個遮蔭處）
　　They moved to New York to seek jobs.（他們遷到紐約去找工作）
　　Seek a solution.（探索解決辦法）

　　另一字是“search”，常見的翻譯是「搜尋、搜索、搜查、追求、探求」，語氣上比“seek“凝重一些。例子有：

　　The policeman are still searching for survivors of the plane crash.（警察仍在搜尋飛機失事的倖存者）
　　Search for a cause that would give meaning to one's life.（追求一種會賦予自己生活以意義的事業）
　　Search into a matter.（深入調查一件事）

　　要牢記“find”與「找」的分別，可嘗試記着這句例句：

　　They searched everywhere, and finally found the lost child.（他們到處尋找，終於找到那丟失的孩子）
